It never ceases to amaze me that these little bottles of essential oil contain so much magic!
Whoever would have thought that a blend of Black Pepper, Lemon and Lavender would not only smell lovely but help with muscle pain, give complete relaxation and still give you a lift?
I usually find that I am guided as to which oils to use for my clients, although if they request a particular oil or wish to bring their own then that’s fine.
When essential oils are used in body massage they are absorbed in two ways, through the sense of smell (Aroma - therapy) and through the skin. These effects can last up to 24 hrs and are doing a lots of work "Behind the scenes” such as clearing out toxic wastes and easing muscle strain amongst others.
Certain oils will not be applicable for certain conditions i.e. pregnancy but I will always check this before starting treatment.
The benefits of an Aromatherapy Massage are numerous, especially the wonderful feeling of relaxation afterwards. Many people have blocked or sluggish Lymphatic Systems (More about this on my Body Massage Page) and I find if this is the case then Lavender, Juniper , Geranium, Lemon or Rosemary are particularly helpful.
